You mentioned that you would like to improve your readership figures. I think 99% of bloggers feel the same way. I'm fortunate that my readers tend to leave comments, but don't think I have a large readership-I reckon about 10 people at the most!
Don't let that discourage you though. I read some of the posts here and I think they are intelligent, well written and well-argued. It's the kind of thing that a lof of people will enjoy. Conversely, it will also attract people with different opinions--argument is a good thing.
Just do what I'm doing. Try to find blogs you like, leave comments and people will find their way to you. You can also try leaving a message on the blog group board like I did.
